Recently I had a chance to be in Victoria, British Columbia. On their Fishermen's Wharf, there are three piers along which there are floating houses. Not house boats, the sign told us, but floating houses. House boats can go places, but floating houses will stay right where they are floating by the pier to which they are tied. The houses were painted bright colors.
What I loved most about the floating houses was the wonderful reflections they made on the water and the way the waves distorted the reflections turning them into abstract images. This one is one of my favorites.
